Your Residential Wellness Weekend

The weekend will be structured around small personal growth groups where you will be invited to explore personal issues in a safe environment. This is a rich therapeutic space where people have a chance to gain significant personal insight. Each day there will be time allocated to workshops, eg, Mindfulness, Creative Movement and Art. You will get to choose your preferred workshop.

It is a residential conference in order to give one the best opportunity to achieve wellbeing, healing and growth without any distractions.

Confidentiality and safety

We work within strong ethical boundaries and the Personal Growth Groups are facilitated by experienced Psychotherapists, any personal matters raised in this setting are confidential.

Talks by Dr  Michael Paterson:

Friday 26th Oct Conversation One: “From burnout to wellbeing and joy at work”
Within each one of us there is a pilot light that sometimes burns bright and sometimes goes out. This conversation explores what ignites and what extinguishes us and looks at practical ways to foster wellbeing for the long haul.

Saturday 27th Oct Conversation two: Vulnerability; A gift to be unwrapped (not shunned)”
Each time we come face to face with our limitations and vulnerabilities we have a choice: to embrace them or to shun them. Fostering secure attachments opens the path to self-acceptance. Defending against our vulnerabilities opens the door to addictive self-wounding. This conversation engages personal experience with therapeutic insights.

Sunday 28th Oct Conversation three:  “Cared or scared; the true face of care and the distorted face of trauma?”
What happens when the a lifetime of care and compassion presents its bill and we become victim of the cruelties we have heard and witnessed? This conversation revisits vicarious trauma and reaffirms the need for appropriate self care

Why you should attend

Your wellbeing is important and you are the only person that has the power over this. Some of us think about pampering as a spa weekend away where we treat our bodies to healing through massages and other treatments. We often forget about pampering our minds. This weekend is about giving you the space for reflection and personal growth. At the end of the weekend you will :

  • Go home revitalised
  • Have enhanced wellbeing
  • Have learned new coping skills
  • Have new meaning and hope
